Judith – Seeing My Boobs in the Mirror Makes Me Happy

Judith Johnson Nollywood actress and a model, is studying Mass Communication at Lagos State University (LASU). She might not be as popular as the Genevieves and Ini Edos, but she is for sure one actress that you watch in a movie and long to watch again. In this interview with EBERE NDUKWU, Judy talks about her experiences in the hands of some movie producers, what she likes best in her body and other things. Enjoy!

Prominent movies

The Good son, where I played the daughter of Olu Jacobs and Ngozi Ezeonu; Dark Shape 1 and 2, it’s a comedy movie and I played a Junior sister to Monalisa, Aki and Pawpaw were also featured in the movie. There are other ones that I can’t easily remember their titles at the moment.

Entrance

I joined the industry in 2003, but I have been off and on because of my dad who has never supported my acting profession. His fear is that I might get wild as an actress. May be he is feeling that way because we are all girls in the family.

Mum’s reaction

My mum has always supported me. It is only my dad who has been opposing the idea, but at the moment, he’s soft-pedaling because he has been seeing some movies I participated in.

Motivation

I love acting since my childhood and I started acting on stage at a tender age during my church carols and other church activities.

Why didn’t you choose to study theatre art?

I’m good as an actor, so whether I study theatre art or not, won’t affect me.

Aside acting what else do you do?

I do model, then my studies.

How do you combine your education pursuit and acting?

It has not been too difficult because I’m on part-time studies.

Sexual harassment

I have been harassed several times.

How?

I have been to several auditions where I was assigned a role and scripts handed over to me, but afterwards, the producers will call and ask me to date them, because I have always refused to oblige, it has cost me several jobs.

Do you mean failure to date them means they won’t feature you anymore?

Most times yes, but if they really need you, they’ll grudgingly leave you. Most times they’ll tell you that there are some ladies who are begging to sleep with them for a role, so, they’ll collect the script from you. When they watch you and you don’t come back, they assign the role to another person who may be willing to sleep with them.

I have had an experience where I refused to sleep with a producer and he took the script from me on the set, giving flimsy excuses.

Are there roles you can’t play?

I can’t play a nude role no matter what I’m offered. How can I even try it when the jobs I do at the moment I try to hide them from my dad. If I dare try that, I’ll be disowned.

Which of your movies will you say is the most challenging so far.

That should be the movie Good Son, because I acted with top stars like Olu Jacobs, Ngozi Ezeonu, Ameachi Munago and others. When you act with top stars you have to work hard to meet up with their standard.

Who are you looking up to in the industry?

I love Genevieve and Stephanie Okereke, they are naturally good. I also like Monalisa.

Favourite dress

Polo top and straight jean trouser, I like simple dress.

What can attract you to the opposite sex?

I like men who are simple and appear natural. I don’t like men who fake what they are not. I also like men who are fair in complexion.

Do you have a boyfriend?

I have but he is not in the country at the moment.

Heartbreak

I don’t allow guys to break my heart. As soon as I notice some changes in my relationship with a guy I walk away. So, I don’t wait until he asks me to leave, I leave before they break my heart.

Haven’t you broken anybody’s heart?

I wouldn’t know but sometimes they complain I did. I don’t trust guys.

Challenges

It has not been easy because acting requires patience. To get to the top, you have to face the challenges of harassment and audition. There are so many people who want to act, so, for you to get a role; you must work very hard to distinguish yourself.

What can bring tears to your eyes?

When I’m hurt and when friends do what I don’t expect from them.

Hobbies

I love listening to cool music, swimming and cooking

What do you love most in your body?

I love my boobs most

Why did you choose that?

I chose it because I know it’s the most attractive part of my body.

Did anybody tell you that?

I don’t really need anybody to tell me that, when I look at myself in a mirror; I know how attractive it looks. Sometimes people admire me because of it, though they won’t say it. It is really the best part of my body and I take good care of it. Another thing I like is my legs.
