Actress, script writer, director cum producer, Chinny Chukwu has no doubt contributed her quota to the growth of film making business in Nigeria.
Chinny who came into the industry officially in 2001 has acted in over 22 movies and produced over 16.
These movies which include Deceit of the gods, Backfire, Adulteress, Alice My First Lady and many others, posses typical Nigerian village plot with very interesting characters. Recently, her marriage to Marcel Ahaneku is said to have hit the rocks, without any reasons attached to it.
It was reported that this actress cum producer who was first discovered by Pete Igbo, a former director of National Television Authority at Enugu packed out of her Port Harcourt matrimonial home last year and moved down to Lagos. According to sources, the marriage had been in trouble for years, as Chinny was allegedly stealing every opportunity to leave the house and go on tour to foreign countries. On her arrival to Lagos, she changed her fashion style with a penchant appearance in tight leggings and tops. When she arrived Lagos, Chinny’s penchant in appearing skimpy did not come close to depict that of a married woman. She is one lady who cherishes dressing to kill and this lures people to her, as she is known to always catch the attention of the paparazzi in any event she chooses to attend.
In showbiz, Chinny has since last year when she relocated to Lagos been tagged the bloc. Chinny’s façade exudes sex and she has been described as a sex symbol. Not only do people perceive her as the gorgeous lady of Nollywood, but also she ascribes herself as one. Quoting her relationship status to be single, Chinny stated that she is interested in men, looking for friendship, dating, relationship and networking. Her appearance at Ovation Red Carol depicted a woman who has thrown all caution to the wind, while seeking for the lost happiness of year back. She caught the attention of all the men in the house, as she sparkled in her red leggings, white top and a red belt to match. Sources disclosed to HSM that relocating to Lagos is one her attempts to walk away from her troubled marriage.
A close source disclosed that she is one lady who cherishes homes that seem to be away from home, as she tours UK and the US to ease off from her troubled marriage. Aside her lifestyle, we gathered that the major reason for the crash of this marriage is childlessness. As hinted, Chinny’s marriage to her hubby lasted for 7 years without producing a child, having tried over the years without success, the source informed that Chinny moved out of her matrimonial home to allow peace to reign.
Right now, she has moved on with her life and has just made a trip to US to premiere her new movie. When we contacted her last week over the story of her crashed marriage, chinny responded thus: “I don’t want to discuss my marriage. I have been pressed so much but I can’t I want to be at the spotlight for my talent which due to all that has happended I have been unable to focus attention on. Now its over I won’t cast energy on negativity. I am looking forward to the premier of my new movie, Fearless Princess and completely focus on my career”.
