Facts are beginning to emerge on why hip-hop artiste 9ice and his wife, Tony Payne broke-up. The showbiz couple who announced their break-up via a press statement from 9ice’s publicist in January 2010, got married on Thursday July 17, 2008 after Ruggedman introduced the couple in 2006.
Before they broke-up, the couple was seen as the ultimate couple owing to their rising profile in their choosing profession.

Its been about four months since ethnic singer 9ice dropped his third album ‘Tradition’; just a month before he separated from wife, Toni Payne for unresolved disputes. A recent publication on the cause of the break-up is stirring exchange of e-mails and phone calls in the media and music circuit.
Rapper Ruggedman has been named culprit and neither Toni nor Michael (Ruggedman’s real name) is taking this any kindly. In a swift reaction, Ruggedman released a statement to the media absolving himself of any complicity in the separation while also condemning publications that have gone to town with the story.

The marriage of popular Afro hip-hop musician, Abolore Akande aka 9ice and his wife, Toni hit the rocks recently. Coming less than two years it was consummated, the unfortunate crash of the marriage had created a rude shock in the entertainment industry. But one man had witnessed it all.
He was there when 9ice met US-based Toni Payne. In fact, he had introduced one to the other and watched as their relationship developed into marriage. The “intermediary” is no other person than hip hop star, Michael Stephens popularly known as Ruggedman.

The marriage of famous music act, Abolore ‘9ice’ Akande, has crashed as a result of infidelity. The marriage hit the rocks barely one year after the Gongo Aso crooner signed the dotted lines with his wife cum stylist and on-line manager, Toni Payne, at a Lagos registry.
Now that the hitherto happy couple have gone their separate ways, it has been agreed that their only child, Zion, will reside with the mother.
P.M.NEWS gathered that while they were still living together, 9ice had allegedly been having extra-marital affairs, a development Toni Payne had complained about several times, even as she did not want to wash 9ice’s dirty linens in public.

The beat of this track is all big horn loops and hard drums and there is no difference with the remix has you can still hear the bass lines and blurping synth sounds. Darn! I honestly don’t have to tell you that a track with Dbanj, 9ice, Naeto C, eLDee and BankyW on it would turn out HOT. This is probably the sickest collaboration of 2009 since Knighthouse ‘Ijinle Pam Pam’…this is fire.

Barely two weeks after dropping the first single of his upcoming album called ‘Tradition’, Abolore Akande, aka 9ice, has released another single titled ‘Energy’. In this single, 9ice shows his versatility by singing in different languages. His fluid lyrics and abundant use of proverbial sayings also make the song easy to identify with.
